Max Cafe

This place has a great atmosphere, food and coffee are good. Good place to meet friends or just to go read a book and spend a nice time.

Max Cafe

Max Cafe is a comfortable oasis nestled in upper Manhattan. I'm not a coffee drinker but their tea and tomato mozzarella sandwiches are fantastic.

Living in Brooklyn I don't make it here often, but every once in a while I'll make a special trip because the experience is that good. Excellent service, friendly clientele and an environment that makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in,

Max Cafe is on the short list of my favorite coffee shops in New York City.

Max Cafe

Max Cafe is what I'd want my living room to look like. It's got an old cabin feel, with rustic tables and wooden floors, and beautiful fall colors that adorn the inside walls. There's a great space near the mini-bar area that opens up with a red velvet drape. There's a comfy brown couch against the wall surrounded by great paintings, plus extra room to just sit back and relax with friends. If you're in the mood to eat, they've got a great menu full of sandwiches, paninis, tappas, etc. As I said, they've got a bar so feel free to check that out as well - try one of their seasonal wines while you're at it! The smell of warm comfort food and freshly brewed coffee only adds to Max's appeal. I would suggest stopping in on an autumn afternoon if you're in the Upper West Side.

Max Cafe

Max Cafe is a great little spot near Columbia University (next to Harlem) that offers open seating and lounge space for locals and students alike. The inside has home furnishings, resembling someone's living room which exudes a welcoming feeling for patrons. It's artsy decor and warm vibes are additional appeals to its expanded menu including full meals, coffee/tea, beer, and wine. They also serve fresh juices, entrees, dessert and other specials. The prices are relatively affordable and the food is quite good. This is a nice place to spend a quiet evening with friends or loved ones, or even by yourself.

Max Cafe

Exposed brick, velvet couches, and creative artwork characterizes Max Cafe, which offers something to pretty much everyone. Offering a selection of salads, sandwiches, and tapas, as well as a decent wine menu, the restaurant is great for brunch, dinner or drinks. Additionally, the luring offer of free wifi means that during the day the place is populated by Columbia students who want to avoid the tense atmosphere of Butler Library. Max Cafe is generally open till 12:30 or 1:00 am, but make sure to drop by Wednesdays and Fridays when all wines and beers are half off from 5:00 to 6:00 pm.

Max Cafe

Max Cafe is a tasty place right near Columbia that is great for anyone looking for a full meal or simply coffee and dessert. In addition, there is an extensive wine menu and every month there is a featured "Wine of the Month". During the spring and summer months, there is the option to eat outside, which is availlable late into the night and features candles at every table. It is also a great experience to eat inside, where you will not find the conventional round tables and booths, but rather couches, loveseats and coffee tables with some very interesting paintings on the wall. Highly recommeded for anyone who is looking to go out to eat yet wants to retain the comfort of their living room.
