The Ecuador trip was memorable for me on so many different levels. It was a trip with Yvonne and close friends from school. The trip was also one of the most diverse I have ever taken - going from the historical Quito city to the wilderness of the Amazon and then at sea in the Galapagos. This was only the second time I had ever been to South America, and I loved it each time I was there. Ecuador was simply a great place to visit. There were so many things to do and to see. What started as a dream to make it to the Galapagos turned out to be much more.

Just want to say thanks to Amily for finding all the cheap deals and working the details of the itinerary. And thanks everyone for coming along.
"It is easy for most of us to ignore such a faraway place burdened with so many endemic problems, but once encountered firsthand, Africa is impossible to forget ." - Kevin Kertscher (Africa Solo)

This is a trip I took with three friends, Phill, Matt, and Mike in August of 2001. It originated out of a desire to see my sister who was serving with the Peace Corps in Malawi. From the rustic cosmopolitan environment of Lilongwe to the serene beauty of the African countryside, this trip was phenomenal- one of the defining moments of my life.
