Despite the Great Art Gallery Migration to Chelsea on the (far) West Side of Manhattan, there are still galleries in Soho. I walked past all the well-known clothing stores, to 24 Spring Street, home of Gallery Nine 5 .  A good friend from France, herself an artist, informed me that her friend, Agnès Pezeu , would be exhibiting in New York. The opening was March 11 and the exhibit, "Impressions," is on view till April 2, 2010.  I am no art critic, so I won't even try. My claim to knowledge of the art world is that I've been attending art openings for years, in 4 continents, and know many artists personally, and also have creative training through my background as an architect. The interesting anectode is that the gallery owner, Sébastien Le Pelletier, met Agnès Pezeu at an exhibition in France and expressed his intention of showing her work; he did not know that 18 years before, his brother had purchased one of her paintings! (His brother owns a gallery in Singapore.)  If you have a chance, I'd encourage all and everyone to pass by the gallery to see the exhibit, which I liked, in any case!
