Yes, New York is still the greatest city in the world. Despite me probably never being able to afford living here, and me not being cool enough to get into some parts I still think this is the best place on earth.   Walking through the city this past week I thought about other things I left out in my former post that makes this city in fact so great: the diversity this island has to offer is incomparible.    Cultures stretch and cross with each neighborhood, it's almost unbelieveable to experience. There's no better way to take it all in then by simply walking. I love sitting at Union Square and seeing the skaters mix in with tourists and businessmen and women trying to catch the train back home. I love strolling through the West Village passing by so many students enjoying an afternoon outside and smelling the different aromas that each restaurant exudes. I love hustling through the Lower East Side on a search to find the best new bar and music venue with friends and envying each person as they pass me thinking "I'll never be that cool." I love seeing the worldly influenced East Village's cafes and hole in the wall local restaurants and its people of foreign tongue. I even enjoy walking down Museum Mile admiring the fortunes of those who've reached an income level I can't comprehend.   Even beyond that; take a trip to Brooklyn sometime and see what you'll find. From the hipsters taking over Williamsburg to the newest families in Park Slope, and Eastern European neighborhoods of Coney Island stretching to Brighton Beach, Brooklyn has been growing by leaps and bounds - it's hard sometimes to remember it's still part of New York.    In a city that has been my backyard of business (or so it seems) it's a wonder to simulatenously feel as if I can conquer anything here and yet have so much more to explore. And there's no other place in the world I can share this feeling.
