A mystery to behold What we are given Surrounds and envelopes us Like a baby in the womb All I want is to be Introduced To the world of the unknown – The evening sky that fills these mountains and trees, The cool blue water from the falls as this breeze, The plush green pastures, full of magnificent creatures, In an instant to rush past us; The mystery of what is pure bliss – In ignorance of what we know too well, Weary from traipsing to and fro We gladly sit and stare Into the glare of the unknown, When the light of the bright moon shown upon us We lay still, hidden in the mist, Face down in the tall grass – Cover ourselves From the Maker of this splendor felt, Despite all we have been dealt, We remain confined To deceptive vices we have given license, Content and helpless while they open this wound Left of flesh and bone, Our souls uncovered – The disease of human nature From the womb of the mother, Lest His blessed creation all for not May we turn and run as a Lot , The beauty of Mother Nature In the face of her Creator – From birth on this ground Given for free, Found in the mystery Unconditional and without bound, For this I graciously thank The one who gave me life Of which there is no other, I love you mother
