Welcome back to this week’s edition of This Week in Travel care of us at Sosauce. We hope everyone’s spirits are a bit on the lighter side this afternoon despite this unfortunate historic day.
Today’s links involve Beatlemania, travel writing guides, plus some humor in between. We hope you enjoy reading!
40 Travel Sites That’ll Help You Save $
WiseBread.com has compiled a list of their picks for top useful sites to assist in your travel planning. Whether it is finding cheap airfare, joining a travel community, using guides, or reading about budget travel, there is a helpful site out there for you. Some of our own personal recommendations include: Sosauce (of course) for trip recording, Budget Travel, Lonely Planet, and Kayak. So go book that next trip abroad!
As a big Beatles fan celebrating the remasters release and Rock Band this week, I was thrilled to see a fellow music fan and traveler write up a post on where to trace the greatest rock band in the world. Andrew at Brooklyn Nomad gives us Beatles fans a tour of their musical roots through England, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada and of course the USA. Follow Andrew as he discusses where the Beatles began and ended. Try not to nerd out TOO much though like me!
Planning a Travel Budget That Works
Everyone wants to travel on a budget, but does anyone really take the time and energy to create a realistic budget to follow? Probably not all of us. If you’re thinking about traveling in the near future and want to make the most out of the little money you have, then read Christine Gilbert‘s tips on how to budget wisely and realistically. She’s launched 30 Ways in 30 Days to Redesign Your Life and Travel the World to help you take practical steps for becoming a smart budget traveler. These tips could save you a hefty chunk of your wallet.
Bearded Nomad Travels
Wow two of my favorite things coming together: handsome beards and nomadic walking. Meet Christoph Rehage as he embarks on a journey to walk to Germany through China. Interestingly enough, Rehage decides to grow his beard at the same time and see how long it can go without a cut. Prepare to drool and become jealous:

Hipster’s Guide to San Francisco
So that’s where all the Williamsburg hipsters come from! Viator Travel walks us through their San Fran guide according to uber-cool indie kids, aka hipsters, that inhabit the Mission District of San Francisco, CA. Enjoy some good ol’ poking fun of people, trendy hot spots, late night grub, and party destinations where you can find San Francisco hipster natives roaming. Some tips on how to become a hipster: get a bike, be cheap, eat Mexican food, wear vintage clothing, and don’t shower. Now off to San Francisco you go!
Did that cheer you up just a little? We hope so.
Remember today, travel tomorrow, and enjoy your weekend. Til next time!
