When we travel, our eyes see the world…
so do our shoes…
what are we packing to keep the adventure on track?
shoe #1: I call these my Chinese Grandma Slippers.
What she’s seen/ where she’s been: Bought in Chinatown in NY before I ever lived here & has been a staple slipper in every apartment or home I’ve lived in since 2005.

shoe #2: Sometimes these give me blisters but I’m willing to take the pain.
Bought in: Jyväskylä, Finland
Favorite place to see: Helsinki, Finland

Shoe #3: My everything & everywhere boot
Age: 2.5 years
Stepped foot in: New York, California, Gum, Puddles, Mexico, Mud, Maine, Portugal, Spain, Grassy Fields, & France

Shoe #4: The always classic CHUCKS
Bought: My freshman year of college circa 2002
Why these are always packed in the suitcase? They go with everything!
Worst time to wear them? When it’s raining.

Shoe #5: Ankle Tie Strappy Things
Why these are always in my suitcase: Flat sandals are key when globe trotting.
Favorite place they’ve been: Indonesia

Shoe #6: Because I like fringe
Favorite Destination: Portugal
Pro: They feel very nomadic!
Con: Rain, Mud, or anything but dry weather will leave you with wet feet.

Shoe #7: Adoringly called my Peter Pan boots
Found where? A thrift store in Orange, California for a few dollars.
Age: Unknown
Favorite place to walk: Porvoo, Finland
Plea for help: My toes are busting at the seams and the heel has been beat down to almost a flat! Help!
