Happy weekend everyone! Is anyone else as restless as me with anticipation for getting out this weekend? I literally cannot wait to have some serious fun with travel geeks and friends in a few hours.
But it is still work mode, so enough of my personal plans of escapism, and on to This Week in Travel. Check out these fun travel headlines we enjoyed:
World Hum | Travel Song of the Day
World Hum is a fan of not only travel, but apparently also great indie rock. The other day they picked “Maps” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as the Travel Song of the Day – kudos, Eva! Since the release of “Maps” – their most popular hit – electronic punk band, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs have had a successful music career playing sold out shows across the country and the UK. Most recently, lead singer, Karen O created the brilliant Where The Wild Things Are soundtrack, a must have for anyone who read this childhood book. For now, enjoy their video for “Maps”
Sharing Travel Experiences | Top 3 Daytrips from Madrid
Andy Hayes just launched his newly revamped travel site Sharing Travel Experiences. Andy, along with his team of reputable travel bloggers, have come together to share information, tips, advice, and stories for all your travel needs. Andy recently visited Spain and shared a great list of recommended day trips for anyone who plans on seeing all what Madrid has to offer. Be in the know on what spots to see, where to eat, and of course how to get there. Personally, I can’t wait to see The Roman Aqueduct and cathedrals, since I’m a big art history nerd. Where would you go?
Wayward Winos | 5 Great Traveling Albums
YES! Finally, someone else shares the same love for music + travel! Though Paul has recently been my arch nemesis regarding musical tastes on Facebook, I have to give him credit for compiling a respectable playlist for road trips on his travel blog, Wayward Winos. The best album you should listen to if you’re like us cool indie rock folks is Minus The Bear’s “Menos El Oso.” Paul and I can at least agree (this week) that Minus The Bear brings the rock, maybe even some dance tunes, when you’re on the road.

Twenty-Something Travel | Interview with Grant Lingel
Sex, drugs, and the travel bug. Grant Lingel is a true travel geek I just learned about. He embraces spontaneity, a free spirited mind, and adventure when it comes to travel. He chatted this week with our friend Stephanie at Twenty-Something Travel to tell us about his new memoir, Imagine: A Vagabond Story – a journey of international roadtripping and self-discovery. An incredible story told by a brave author. This interview is worth a read by any traveler thinking about dropping their 9-5 to see the world.

Fodor’s | 5 Photography Tips for Capturing Color This Fall
Travel and photography go hand in hand as any travel geek would know. For those of you looking to spice up your photo-taking skills, you might want to hop on over to Fodor’s and read Matador Goods‘ Lola Akinmade’s tips for capturing the colors of fall. After you’ve mastered snapshots of fall foliage, submit them to the Sosauce Chili to show them off online!

Thanks for the shout out on our site revamp. And I have to mention, I’m halfway through Grant’s book and am really enjoying it!
